SACBO contracts HNH Hospitality to manage Hilton Garden Inn Milan Bergamo Airport

SACBO, the management company of Milan Bergamo Airport, has entered into a long-term partnership with HNH Hospitality, one of Italy’s leading independent operators in the 4- and 5-star hotelier sector, aimed at managing the new hotel that will be built in the airport services area, with construction beginning in January 2025.

The new Hilton Garden Inn Milan Bergamo Airport hotel, due to open in 2026, will offer 180 modern rooms equipped with the latest technology, designed to meet the needs of all types of travelers. Guests who decide to stay in the future accommodation will have a lobby open to the public 24 hours a day, as well as a cozy restaurant and bar, ideal for relaxing moments or informal meetings.

The hotel will offer a strategic location as it is directly connected to Milan Bergamo Airport, which closed 2024 with over 17 million passengers. A proximity that facilitates access for international and domestic travelers, making the hotel an ideal choice for those seeking high-level comfort while traveling.

SACBO and HNH Hospitality have signed the preliminary deed to the long-term lease of the hotel, which will operate under the renowned Hilton Garden Inn brand and is an important addition to HNH’s portfolio in the luxury and upscale hotel sector in northern Italy, offering guests a high-end experience in line with its long-standing standards of excellence.

SACBO has planned investments of more than 200 million in the four-year period from 2023 to 2027, with the aim of upgrading and adapting airport infrastructure and improving services in terms of quality and sustainability, also including in the Airport Development Plan the construction of the hotel structure, ready in 2026, functional to the airport’s activities and meeting the needs of travelers. SACBO has allocated about 30 million for the construction of the new hotel and renovation of the adjoining areas, appointing its construction to Gencantieri.

SACBO has chosen HNH Hospitality, one of the most important Italian groups in the hospitality sector, to take care of its management, contributing to raising the prestige of the hospitality services that Milan Bergamo Airport reserves for its passengers. The facility will provide a range of services, from the airport information desk to luggage storage and connection to and from the air terminal by a special shuttle.  The presence of the hotel in the airport service area is part of an accessibility and interchange strategy that refers to the development of multimodality, which will be completed with the construction of the rail link,” – said Giovanni Sanga, President of SACBO.

“We are excited about this new facility which, not only consolidates our offer in Northern Italy with another important destination, but also expands our portfolio to the important segment of airport hotels. The trust that SACBO has placed in us and in the project and the new partnership with Hilton are a source of great satisfaction and pride. We aim once again, in the development of this asset, to be innovative and efficient,” said Luca Boccato, CEO of HNH Hospitality.

Alan Mantin, Vice President of Development, Southern Europe at Hilton, said, “Hilton has been present in Italy for more than 60 years, and as our ambitious growth plan in the country continues to unfold, we are proud to announce the addition of the Hilton Garden Inn Bergamo Airport to our portfolio. Strategically located near a major transportation hub, this new property represents another step forward in our mission to offer sophisticated and affordable accommodation experiences at the same time.
