The new structure will result from the redevelopment of the part of the complex known as the “former Military Academy,” based on an innovative design that fully respects the existing and historic nature of the places. The 130-room hotel will open its doors in 2028 under the international Radisson Collection brand
HNH Hospitality, under the Radisson Collection brand, will manage the 5-star hotel, fruit of the redevelopment of a portion of the Cavallerizza Reale in Turin, a historical building declared a UNESCO World Heritage site.
CDP Real Asset SGR and the HNH Hospitality group – among the leading independent hotel and resort operators in Italy – have reached an agreement for the 130-room structure, which will make its debut upon completion of the redevelopment project of the former Military Academy, by 2028.
The redevelopment of the property will be carried out by CDP Real Asset SGR, which manages the Fondo Investimenti per la Valorizzazione (FIV) and owns the asset, for a total investment of about 35 million euros. The Genius Loci Architecture firm of Florence has been appointed with the design: the intervention will follow a design characterized by an innovative approach that fully respects the existing and historic nature of the places and will be marked by sustainability and energy-saving principles. In particular, a single geothermal system will be built to serve all portions of the complex. HNH is in charge of the interior design, which it has entrusted to Studio Marco Piva of Milan.
“Turin once again demonstrates how culture represents a formidable driver of urban regeneration,” – says Giancarlo Scotti, CDP Real Estate Director and Managing Director of CDP Real Asset SGR – ”the transformation of our portion of the Cavallerizza Reale into a hotel, in addition to enriching the city’s premium hospitality offer, reinforcing its role as a tourist destination, complements the entire initiative of redeveloping the complex that we are promoting with the Municipality of Turin, the Compagnia di San Paolo Foundation, the University of Turin and the Polo delle Arti, with the aim of returning a valuable district to the population”.
“We are thrilled to be part of this highly prestigious project, which combines our experience in high-end hospitality with a historic property of inestimable cultural value such as the former Cavallerizza Reale. The management of the new property under the Radisson Collection brand represents an important opportunity for us to consolidate our presence in the luxury segment and to contribute to the enhancement of Turin as a tourist destination of excellence” – commented Luca Boccato, CEO of HNH Hospitality.
