HNH Hospitality announces the opening in Sicily of the new Almar Giardino di Costanza Resort

On 26th May Almar Giardino di Costanza Resort, an elegant 5-star structure immersed in the Mazara del Vallo countryside, a short distance from the sea, has opened its doors, following an important renovation that will conclude in 2023. This is the second hotel under the Almar brand, an innovative concept developed and managed by HNH Hospitality for an exclusive experience marked by wellness, where time and space take on new meaning in order to rediscover one’s rhythm and balance, as at the award-winning Almar Jesolo Resort & Spa, which has influenced the style, excellence and quality of services, also aiming to bring value to the surrounding territory.

Immersed in the green oasis of a luxuriant Mediterranean park, with palm trees and centuries-old olive groves, fountains and water features, Almar Giardino di Costanza Resort is inspired by the characteristics of a historic Sicilian noble country house. The name is a tribute to Constance of Hauteville, mother of Emperor Frederick II, who played a major role in the Arabic-Norman era. Adjacent to the resort stands Villa Fontanasalsa, built around 1850: after a careful renovation it will hold events and receptions.

The new resort has 88 rooms including junior suites, suites and royal suites. They all boast balconies and private terraces that overlook the swimming pool surrounded by the luxuriant garden that embellishes the central courtyard of the resort or the elegant old stone path surrounded by palm trees or the surrounding countryside dotted with vineyards and olive groves. The furnishing is sophisticated and elegant, with great attention to every detail, characterized by soft hues, design furniture and marble. Traditional Sicilian traits, present in the lines and typical furnishings, find harmony with the contemporary reinterpretation celebrated by the new finishing in natural shades.

The spacious rooms in the Hall, decorated with elegant and bright white marble enhanced by the sophisticated furniture and finishes with a typically Sicilian flair, face the central courtyard of the resort. Your gaze wanders toward the scenic waterfall flowing into the large pool and the spacious terrace furnished with elegant sunbeds and umbrellas, stylish lounge areas with sofas and comfortable sitting areas where you can admire the luxuriant Mediterranean garden full of fragrant citrus trees.

High quality also characterizes the food & beverage offer led by Aquamadre Restaurant, a name that is inspired by the famous salt mines in the area, specifically from the highly concentrated seawater formed during the salt production process, which remains after the salt crystallizes. The salt from the mines on the southwestern coast will be one of the main elements that distinguishes the cuisine at Aquamadre Restaurant. In fact, a selection of ten types of typical and handcrafted aromatic salt will be used in the dishes. This salt comes from the ancient salt mine Culcasi di Nubia, a Slow Food presidium and the only salt mine in southwestern Sicily where the salt is gathered once a year by hand. The Restaurant will offer guests traditional dishes with international influences, proposing a generous selection of traditional Mediterranean dishes with typically Sicilian flavors that only use the best local ingredients, including the celebrated red and pink shrimp from Mazara del Vallo, the delicious Sicilian blood oranges, as well as the typical artichokes that grow near the rocks and absorb all the properties of the seawater, giving them a particular and unusual marine and algae flavor.
The main bar of the resort is called Turchinu Lounge & Terrace, a name inspired by the turquoise color in the Sicilian majolica that cover the terrace with geometric patterns. The Pool Bar next to the outdoor swimming pool of the resort is also an interesting spot and offers snacks, also at lunch, and a vast selection of cocktails.
At the end of 2022, the renovation and extension work will start on the new Spa, following in the footsteps of the successful concept of the award-winning Almablu Wellness & Spa at Almar Jesolo Resort&Spa, entirely renovated and extended at over 2700 square meters. However, guests at Almar Giardino di Costanza Resort can already enjoy a myriad of wellness treatments Almablu offers based on traditional Chinese medicine and exclusively developed by a pool of experts aimed at rebalancing the mind and body. At the moment, the indoor heated pool surrounded by a relaxation area with comfortable chaise lounges, an equipped fitness room, three cabins for facial/body treatments and regenerating, detox and relaxing massages are open.

A peaceful and relaxing oasis, Almar Giardino di Costanza Resort is undoubtedly the ideal location for a relaxing vacation, cultural sightseeing or food and wine tours. The resort organizes numerous activities for guests to experience the territory, from fishing expeditions accompanied by local fishermen from Mazara, winetasting at nearby vineyards, olive oil tasting at local producers, tours of the Trapani salt mines, Marsala and Mozia, as well as other excursions. In fact, the strategic location of the resort is near the Mazarese coast, characterized by a succession of dunes and small bays, bordered by Mediterranean scrub, as well as the archeological sites of Segesta, Selinunte and Erice. Mazara del Vallo itself, nicknamed the “Gate to the Orient” because of its Arabic atmosphere, faces the Channel of Sicily just a few miles from the coast of Africa, is worth a visit. Must-see monuments are the Cathedral, the baroque San Francesco church and the famous Dancing Satyr, housed in the Sant’Egidio Museum along with other archeological relics recovered from the bottom of the Channel of Sicily. From Mazara you reach Marsala, where the thousand led by Garibaldi landed, and home to the historic Donnafugata wine cellars. Along the coastline from Marsala to Trapani lies the enchanting Salt Road, a succession of dazzling white saltpans and windmills, their iridescent colors changing depending on the time of day and season. Finally, the Egadi Islands are across the sea and can be reached by a short ferryboat ride.
Almar Giardino di Costanza will be a new point of reference for luxury hospitality in Sicily and all of Italy, marked by excellence in wellness in true Almar style.
